CalorieMate AI Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CalorieMate AI, developed by Andrew Moris,
collects, uses, stores, synchronizes and protects information when you use
the CalorieMate AI Android application and related services.

1. Information We Process

CalorieMate AI may process information you provide or generate while using
the application, including profile information, nutrition goals, meals,
foods, calories, macronutrients, hydration records, fasting information,
weight records, pantry items, shopping lists, meal plans and preferences.

2. Google Sign-In and Account Information

If you choose to sign in with Google, CalorieMate AI uses Firebase
Authentication. The app may receive your Firebase user identifier, email
address, display name and other information permitted by Google and your
consent.

CalorieMate AI does not receive or store your Google account password.

3. Firebase and Cloud Synchronization

CalorieMate AI uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore for optional
account functionality, cloud synchronization, backup, restore and
multi-device continuity.

Cloud data is associated with the authenticated user's Firebase UID and is
protected by access-control rules.

4. Health Connect

If you grant permission, CalorieMate AI may access supported Health Connect
data such as steps, active calories, weight and nutrition-related information.

Health Connect access is optional and controlled by Android permissions.
Users may revoke these permissions at any time.

5. AI Food Scanner

When AI-assisted food recognition is used, food images or information derived
from those images may be processed to identify foods, estimate portions and
provide estimated nutritional information.

AI-generated results should be reviewed by the user before being saved.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Premium subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing.

CalorieMate AI receives only the purchase and entitlement information needed
to provide Premium functionality. Payment card information is handled by
Google Play and is not stored directly by CalorieMate AI.

7. How We Use Information

Information may be used to provide nutrition tracking, meal logging, meal
planning, pantry and shopping features, AI-assisted functions, Health Connect
integration, cloud synchronization, backup and restore, subscription access,
security and reliability.

8. Data Sharing

CalorieMate AI does not sell personal information.

Information may be processed by service providers required for application
functionality, including Google, Firebase and Google Play, subject to their
respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Local application data remains on the user's device until it is deleted,
application storage is cleared or the application is uninstalled, subject to
Android platform behavior.

Cloud-synchronized information may remain associated with the user's account
until it is deleted through supported account/data controls or a valid
deletion request.

10. Security

CalorieMate AI uses reasonable technical safeguards, including authenticated
Firebase access, secure network connections and platform security mechanisms.

No electronic storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Choices

Users can choose whether to sign in, enable cloud synchronization, grant
Health Connect permissions, use AI-assisted functionality or subscribe to
Premium features.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when CalorieMate AI features, services or
legal requirements change. The current version and last-updated date will be
published here.
